Beach Closures
The Charlotte Beach and Whiskey Bay can be closed due to high levels of E.Coli or Cyanobacteria (Blue-green algae). Water samples are collected weekly at both beaches to monitor E.Coli Levels. CLICK HERE for more information on E.Coli If we need to close the beach due to high levels of E.Coli, we cannot reopen until we have a confirmed test stating levels are safe for swimming. Cyanobacteria is monitored differently and water quality can change drastically. If you see a closure sign, please help us by staying out of the water until conditions are safe. All beach updates will be listed here.

The information provided through this LINK can help you understand where cyanobacteria blooms have been reported. Unfortunately, it cannot provide current swimming conditions as blooms can change quickly, and not all locations are monitored at all times.
